Australasian Human Research Ethics Association (AHREA) [1]

A professional association the provides information for members of HRECs, administrators, researchers and anyone interested in the ethical conduct of human research.

Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing Departmental Ethics Committee (DEC) [2]

This DEC is an approved Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) that provides ethical assessment of non-biomedical research proposals involving humans.

National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) [3]

The NHMRC is responsible for raising the standard of individual and public health, by fostering health and medical research, training and by monitoring ethical health issues throughout Australia. It provides support and advice on health and human research ethics, including information for Human Research Ethics Committees.

National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007) [4]

This Statement consists of a series of Guidelines made in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992.

NHMRC Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC) [5]

AHECs provide support to Human Research Ethics Committees. This section of the NHMRC site contains information about AHECs, including their composition, role and work.

NHMRC Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) [6]

HRECs protect the welfare and rights of participants involved in research by reviewing research proposals involving humans. They are established by organisations, which register their HREC with the NHMRC.

NHMRC Human Research Ethics Handbook [8]

This handbook helps Australian HRECs assess and facilitate the ethical conduct of research involving human participants and resolve the challenges encountered during this process.

NHMRC Indigenous Issues Portal [9]

The portal includes useful links to all related Indigenous matters on the NHMRC website including media releases, publications, research issues and more.
