Australian Insitute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Research Ethics Committee

The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is the world’s premier institution for information and research about the cultures and lifestyles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
 
The Institute undertakes and encourages scholarly, ethical community-based research, holds a priceless collection of films, photographs, video and audio recordings and the world’s largest collections of printed and other resource materials for Indigenous Studies, and has its own publishing house.

Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing Departmental Ethics Committee (DEC)

This DEC is an approved Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) that provides ethical assessment of non-biomedical research proposals involving humans.

National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)

The NHMRC is responsible for raising the standard of individual and public health, by fostering health and medical research, training and by monitoring ethical health issues throughout Australia. It provides support and advice on health and human research ethics, including information for Human Research Ethics Committees.

NHMRC Australian Health Ethics Committee (AHEC)

AHECs provide support to Human Research Ethics Committees. This section of the NHMRC site contains information about AHECs, including their composition, role and work.

NHMRC Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC)

HRECs protect the welfare and rights of participants involved in research by reviewing research proposals involving humans. They are established by organisations, which register their HREC with the NHMRC.
